Map of uncertainty in aboveground carbon density (ACD) at a resolution of one hectare for the 7,541,600 hectare country of Panama. Mapping units are metric tons (megagrams or Mg) of carbon per hectare. A map data value of -9999 indicates missing data. The method combines airborne LiDAR, field plot inventory, and satellite data in a regional approach based on machine learning, as reported by Asner et al. (2013; below). This map represents all woody vegetation with diameter at breast height (DBH) greater than or equal to 10 cm. The map represents the vegetation as imaged in 2012.
The data are provided as a GeoTIFF format (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeoTIFF), and the data and the reference PDF(s) are compressed as a single, self-extracting 7Zip (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7-Zip) file. When prompted, the password is "caodata" (without quotes).
