Prior to downloading a Data Map, please be sure to review the Metadata.  By downloading the Data Map, you automatically agree to the conditions stated in each Metadata file.  We strongly encourage you to read the source journal paper for each Data Map because our methodology has dramatically changed and improved from 2009 to present.  In this sense, the maps are not comparable between projects.

Map of mean aboveground carbon density (ACD) at a resolution of 25 meters for the 481 hectare Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, California, USA. Mapping units are metric tons (megagrams or Mg) of carbon per hectare.  A map data value of -9999 indicates missing data.  The method combined airborne LiDAR, field plot inventory, and spatial modeling as reported by Dahlin et al. (2012; below).  This map represents all woody vegetation with diameter at breast height (DBH) greater than or equal to 5 cm.  The map represents the vegetation as imaged in 2007.

The data are provided as a GeoTIFF format (, and the data and the reference PDF(s) are compressed as a single, self-extracting 7Zip ( file.  When prompted, the password is "caodata" (without quotes).
